The Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce Receives ETP Job Training Funds
ETP recently awarded a $42,240 contract to the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SACC) to train 48 small business owners in business management skills to help their companies grow and thrive in the Sacramento region.
The Asian Pacific Chamber's program will provide up to 60 hours of training for owners of companies with 1-9 full-time employees on how to successfully manage and grow their businesses to a higher level of financial success. Training will begin with the development of a business plan, and include bookkeeping, marketing, formulating financial projections, negotiating with lenders, and related management skills.
"SACC is proud to partner with ETP in establishing a training program that will assist us in serving a diverse small business community," said Pat Fong Kushida, President/CEO of the SACC." ETP training funds will assist us in our mission to strengthen and expand economic development opportunities so that all communities can benefit."
Founded in 1993, the SACC is a membership organization with a mission to create and promote a positive environment for Asian Pacific businesses, and to enhance economic and business development in the Sacramento area and surrounding regions -- from Stockton to El Dorado Hills. SACC provides members with opportunities to gain business knowledge, make business contacts, showcase goods and services, and develop leadership skills.
"The State of California is experiencing a tremendous surge of entrepreneurial spirit within its various ethnic communities, and SACC's program illustrates how community leaders can help their businesses prosper," said Michael Saragosa, ETP Executive Director. "This program also is a prime example of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's strong support of training programs that lead to self-reliance, job creation, and opportunities for all Californians."
