Assembly Member Jean Fuller Hosts ETP Orientation
Assembly Member Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield), in partnership with the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, hosted a seminar on how to access ETP job training funds. At the invitation of Assembly Member Fuller, her Career Technical Training Task Force and the Bakersfield Chamber, on May 4, 2007, ETP's Barry Worthington provided an orientation to educate local businesses about the availability of state job training funds and to assist companies begin the application process. The event was an enormous success.
"I was pleased to team up with the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce to host the Employment Training Panel and to introduce their invaluable job training services to the community. Businesses throughout Kern County can access ETP funding and expertise to train employees in a customized fashion that most effectively allows their enterprise to grow and thrive," said Assembly Member Fuller. "The event was a wonderful way to help local businesses develop the skilled and competitive workforce they need to compete successfully in an increasingly global economy."
More than 40 employers attended the seminar, including at least one who had previously held an ETP contract. The president of that company indicated that his past experience with ETP was successful and that he found the program easy to use.
ETP remains committed to reaching and serving small and large businesses throughout California.
