ETP Contractor Recognized as Emerging Small Business of the Year
Cali Bamboo, LLC was formed in 2004 with a commitment to protect the environment. In fact, Cali Bamboo, which has 25 employees and is headquartered in San Diego, encourages its workers to volunteer their time to the environment and donates 1 percent of its revenue to various environmental organizations. The company only sells products that are sustainable and do not impact the planet negatively.
Cali Bamboo was recognized as San Diego's Emerging Small Business of the Year by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce at the Business Expo and Awards held in May 2008. The Chamber described Cali Bamboo as a young, dynamic company with a focus on "green" renewable and sustainable products.
In September 2007, ETP awarded Cali Bamboo a $26,400 job training contract to train 20 of their 25 employees in all aspects of business operations. The ETP contract also allowed the company to begin a training initiative to provide its workers with on-going formal, structured training.
"The California Employment Training Panel has been a tremendous help in growing our business," said Jeff Goldberg, Cali Bamboo's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We intend to continue using this valuable resource and recommend it to other small businesses.
ETP is committed to supporting not only California's small businesses, but all companies committed to prioritizing clean technologies and supporting the State's effort to promote a healthy environment for all Californians.
