ETP Plays a Role in High Tech Industry Training Needs

The Employment Training Panel recently awarded a $603,110 job training contract to AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), a nonprofit voluntary member organization, to train 420 high tech industry workers throughout California. AeA was founded in 1943, and is the largest trade association of high-tech companies in the United States, with approximately 2,500 member companies representing all segments of the industry. AeA's California employer members number 680, of which 250 are small companies with 100 employees or less.

"High tech companies play a critical role in California's economy," said Brian McMahon, ETP's Executive Director. "ETP is helping to ensure this industry has a workforce with skills that match the evolving needs of companies in this sector."

Constant and rapid changes in database technology are the driving forces behind the ever-increasing need for training in the high tech industry. ETP's job training contract with AeA will assist their member employers in keeping up with the amount and frequency of technical training needed to remain competitive.
