Greg Campbell, Member
In January 2008, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez appointed Greg Campbell, Director of Special Projects for Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, to serve on the Employment Training Panel.
Mr. Campbell has served in the Speaker's Office since 2002 and in the Legislature since 1996, where he has worked for several members, including two Assembly Speakers.
During his tenure with the Legislature, Mr. Campbell's main focus has been on issues relating to labor and workforce development and public employee retirement, where he has played major roles in negotiating agreements on workers compensation reform, the recent minimum wage increases, and health care reform.
Mr. Campbell graduated from the University of California, Davis, with degrees in Political Science and Rhetoric and Communications. He and his wife Janell, a public school teacher, have been married 4 years, and have a 2-year old son, Sean.
Brian McGowan, Ex Officio Member
Pursuant to UI Code section 10202.5(a), Brian P. McGowan, Deputy Secretary for Economic Development & Commerce for the Business, Transportation & Housing Agency (BT&H), has been designated to serve on the Employment Training Panel as an ex officio, voting member on behalf of BT&H Secretary Dale Bonner.
Prior to his gubernatorial appointment to BT&H in November 2007, Mr. McGowan's extensive economic development (ED) experience included service as San Bernardino County's ED Agency's Administrator, overseeing the County's redevelopment agency, community development and housing, workforce development and economic development, ED manager for the City of Ontario, and ED coordinator for the City of Palm Springs.
His many ED efforts include creating and implementing comprehensive and award winning marketing/public relations campaigns, workforce development initiatives, business retention and expansion programs, as well as support networks for businesses and entrepreneurs.
Mr. McGowan received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master's degree in Politics, Economics and Business from the Claremont Graduate University.
